Cutting and Stapling
Unlike Gastric Bypass Surgery, lap band surgery also will not result in cutting or stapling of the stomach, resulting in no long-term scars.
The lap band procedure will not require separating, relocating or stapling internal organs, thereby resulting in a smaller chance of bleeding or leakage.
A lap band surgeon will make very small incisions in the stomach region. From there, he or she will use tiny surgical instruments which permit them to do their operation via that small opening.
Unlike Gastric Bypass Surgery, the lap band operation will not result in permanent alteration of the stomach, or for that matter, any other region of the digestive system.
