Lap Band Adjusting

One of the many advantages to the lap band procedure unlike some other similar surgeries to correct Obesity is that the band may be adjusted by simply undergoing a short office visit with the individual’s lap band specialist.

Having the band adjusted at a later time in the doctor's office allows the lap band patient to deflate or inflate the band as necessary in order to control the amount of food being eaten. When an individual is in need of a lap band adjustment, it can be done through a simple procedure where a saline solution is inserted into the device itself.

The lap band surgeon does this procedure in his or her office by easily inserting a saline-filled needle into the skin and then into the reservoir portion of the lap band.

This adjustment can also be done for females who wish at some time to become pregnant or individuals who desire to drop more weight.
