Lap Band in the Stomach
During lap band surgery, a smaller stomach pouch is formed by the lap band surgeon that will only hold approximately ½ to 1 ounces of food. This pouch connects with the remainder of the stomach area through an outlet called the stoma.
The lap band patient undergoing this version of a weight loss operation to fight Obesity does not feel the passion to eat when one’s upper stomach is full. In turn, they will be able to manage their weight gain and shed the pounds at the same time.
The lap band procedure basically allows individuals to eat smaller meals during the day, yet still receive the necessary nutrients required instead of continuing to go back for seconds and thirds. By eating less, the obvious result is less weight for the person to deal with.
